We flew our Citation Encore to Evansville on a part 135 charter flight. We had intended to pay for jet fuel with contract Phillips into Plane at a cost of $4.20 per gallon with a minimum purchase of 200 gallons. After fueling with 200 gallons our pilots were informed they could only use the Phillip into Plane contract if we were flying cargo or air ambulance and not if we were flying passengers. So we had to pay $5.25 per gallon. If we had know this before we added 200 gallons we could have purchased the minimum of 150 gallons on non contract fuel. That extra 50 gallons cost us $262.50 and not being able to use the contract price cost us $210.00. We all are hoping to make a small profit in the aviation business but it would seem some want to increase their profits at the expense of others. Make sure an ask questions before you do business with Tri State Aero and get the raw end of the deal.
