When I signed up, a bunch of rules were thrown at me as most places. Then the person that signed me up, said I get 1 or 2 free sessions in personal training. When I started to inquire about those sessions she brushed it off just saying she measures my body blah blah blah... And made it seem as though not only was it a waste of time for me, she just really seemed uninterested. Fast forward to December, I call to cancel my membership stating I'm moving to California in a month... Well here I am 6 months later and I'm receiving phone calls cause my cancelation didn't go through and I owe money. So I look up the information and call only to get the voicemail again, then I leave a post on Facebook. They get back to me within 30 minutes staring they never received said call and if I deleted my post on Facebook they'd be happy to process the cancelation! So now they are black mailing me. Also they changed their phone number two years ago I just needed to look further... Here's a copy of there message back to me.
Hi Heather!
We have looked into your account and it appears to have remained active due to us not receiving a cancellation notice.
All Evolution Fitness memberships require a 30 days’ written cancellation notice which is always explained in detail during the sign-up process. Unfortunately we have not spoken with you via telephone either, as we would have informed you to send the request to us in writing as this has always been our procedure.
The renewal is typically viewed as a benefit to members since it allows you to no longer be locked into a term, and also assures that your rate will never increase. Only a 30-day written notice is required to cancel the renewal.
Our goal is to help members relieve stress by providing a healthy environment. We do not want you to feel stressed or upset with us, as all we needed was some contact from you.
We use an outside company to process all transactions for us and that is who has called you, not Evolution Fitness directly. We apologize on their behalf.
This all being said, we have screenshot your message from the Facebook wall and can use it for your written cancellation request.
However, in order for us to process the request immediately, which will alleviate the phone calls, and any past due balances, we kindly ask for you to remove your post.
Once we see the post has been removed we will cancel the membership out on your behalf and send a confirmation to you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Evolution Fitness
